Why are we crowdfunding and how is it going?

We are seeking funds to help us create growth. We want to strengthen our work with our amazing producer partners.

Running a fair trade business in the last few years has been challenging as we have navigated the supply chain challenges of the pandemic and the subsequent constraints on global shipping followed by the impacts of the Ukraine war and the cost of living crisis.

Our focus is on working with our producer partners to provide market access.  We are pleased to report that our sales (and hence producer purchases) have been growing through this period, but the costs associated with overcoming all the challenges has not allowed us to generate a profit to adequately invest in growth. We are crowdfunding to help us do that.

Over the last 4 years, JTS purchases from producers have grown by over 50%. We are now seeking your support to increase this further. We aim to grow our sales by another 50% by 2025 to enable the producer groups to continue to make a real and lasting positive difference in their local communities as they struggle with the challenges of climate change on top of everything else.

Our target is £12k and we are very grateful for all the support that has already been pledged – we have reached £4k so far. BUT crowdfunding is time-limited and we only have until 29th May to reach the target. We want to build foundations for the next 10 years of fair trading.

Will you help us this week?
